Phenomenal Swag: Dallas Mavericks Blowout Sale

(I'm piggybacking off of Skeets on this one. Phenomenal Swag is a BDL feature, so all the credit for the idea goes thataway.)

About two months back, I got an email from my (kind of) hometown Dallas Mavericks about a blow-out sale of merchandise from their fanshop. I was pretty intrigued at the prospect of buying merchandise at "up to 75% off!", and what I found there was more than worth the trip out to the American Airlines Center.

I was expecting it to be crowded, but the place was packed. There was a line outside the arena from which people were being allowed in a few at a time as others left. Once inside, I started walking towards the Fan Shop only to be redirected by the ushers to the main arena. The sale itself was actually on the floor (hardwood removed, naturally) on a ridiculous amount of fold-out tables. Jerseys, jersey shirts, tees, caps, warm-up gear, summer league unis, bobble heads, everything you could imagine was up for sale. The catch? Most of the gear was slightly dated. By my rough count, there were at least three billion Devin Harris jerseys. But just because these players didn't play for the Mavs anymore didn't mean there wasn't buried treasure to be found.

The journey begins!
(Sorry for the bad photo quality, I ended up taking them on my phone)

I think everyone in Dallas wants to forget that the Doug Christie experiment ever happened, but I still look on Najera's time in Big D with fond memories.

I think I saw Shawn's mom walking out with thirty of these:

I actually bought these two. You can't tell, but the Antoine Walker jersey is actually an authentic. How much is a Trade-Machine Van Horn and former point-center Antoine Walker jersey worth to me? $4 for Van Horn and $2 for Walker. This was the gag gift steal of the century.

If you can explain to me why this was here, you'll get a hearty +1. I had to buy this one too (another $4):

I think this is an authentic Jiri Welsch jersey. He's so good, he's beyond numbers! (and yes, next to it is a real, dancing Mark Cuban doll):

Overall I got a nice haul: a few Finals headbands, a nice coffee mug, a photo of Marquis Daniels, the aforementioned gear, and more. Definitely a worthwhile experience, although I gave the Walker and Carter jerseys to my friend for his birthday, because his game strangely resembles Antoine's.

I'm disappointed to not see a Nick Van Exel Mavs jersey in there somewhere.

Don't worry, Chris, there's one in my closet. I half wish I was kidding.
