Ellwood. If I hear anyone else complain about how these playoffs aren't good enough for them, I'm going to sick Darius Songaila on them to give 'em a quick jab to the chin. So what if there are no huge upsets in the first round. So what if the Spurs are still there. Maybe we've been spoiled in the past, but I've been very pleased with the way this year's post-season has panned out thus far.
- Big mid-season trades had three teams with new big names, not to mention Boston's chance at catharsis, or the awakening of the sleeping giant Spurs just games before the playoffs began.
- The ATLANTA HAWKS (Ka-kaw!) won both of their home games against the best team in the NBA.
- Kobe, the league's most polarizing player, has returned to playoff importance.
- Two playoff coaches have already been fired, and four non-playoff coaches are out as well.
- Chris Paul single-handedly (with a boost from his buddy D-West) ushered in the new guard, and is the poster boy for the "Franchise of the Future!"
- The Washington Wizards won't shut up. Even when LeBron makes them eat their words.
- Two Western Conference establishments have fallen, and left everyone wondering if they will ever get up.
- The biggest playoff upset of all time - yes it does count for a lot, and yes it was certainly epic. There is no way on Earth I could dispute that.
- Three first round sweeps (Pistons over Magic, Bulls over Heat, and Cavaliers over Wiz) and two five game series (Suns over Lakers, Spurs over Nuggets).
- An entertaining, evenly-matched seven game series between the Jazz and Rockets.
- The Nets beating the Raptors in the annual series that no one cared about all that much.
In the first round of 2007, the higher seed won in six out of eight series. Aside from Mavs-Warriors, what was really so great about last year's first round? Citing the 2008 playoffs as "disappointing" is ignoring the fact that there are still three series left to be played -- you'll have every possibility of an epic series on par with the 2007 Spurs-Suns or LeBron-Pistons. It's the first round, people!

Nobody throws a punch like Eastern conference players. Nobody ignores them better than Eastern conference playoff refs. Everyone secretly wants Cavs / Wiz stretched out to 7. Had to be said.
haha this year's post season indeed has me wetting my undergarments in sheer excitement.
